For the past several years, guests were able to meet the one-and-only Talking Mickey at Town Square Theater in the Magic Kingdom. As of today, May 13, 2018, Mickey will no longer talk.
This decision was likely made for a variety of reasons, including recurring technical difficulties, guest confusion since other Mickeys in the parks do not talk, and fiscal issues since the entertainer contracts for talking characters are higher than many others.
