A Look Inside The Pirates League

Updated: May 21, 2023

The Pirates League isn't as well known as Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, but it's just as fun for your little pirates and mermaids. While it may not be quite as difficult as BBB to get an appointment at The Pirates League, I still recommend you do so as early in your planning as possible - 180 days prior to arrival is best! I also recommend trying to time your appointment so that it is about an hour to an hour and a half after park opening and about an hour before a Captain Jack Sparrow Pirate Tutorial. This gives you time to fit in several attractions during the lowest wait times of the day plus line-up perfectly with a chance for your pirate to participate in the Pirate Tutorial show. Another good time to schedule an appointment is just prior to the start of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or on the day your little mermaid or pirate will be taking a Pirate Adventure or Pirates & Pals Fireworks cruise.

The Pirates League is located between the entrance to The Pirates of the Caribbean and the gift shop where you exit the ride. You'll check-in at the podium and the attendant will ask which package you want to do. Packages currently range from $39.95 to $99.95.

There's also a Jake & The Neverland Package which is what we chose. You can bring your own costume from home or buy a costume there if you wish. A changing room is provided.

Once you've decided on your package, you'll be whisked into the dark and mysterious Black Pearl to meet the crew who will transform you from a pirate in training to a full-fledged member of The Pirates League.

When the physical transformation is complete, you'll be invited into a secret, hidden room and prompted to find the hidden treasure.

After selecting your very own piece of pirate booty from the hidden treasure chest, you'll be sworn into The Pirates League with a secret ceremony followed by a photo shoot to commemorate the occasion.

It is very dark in there, so I hope you have better photographic skills than I do!

Be sure to take a before and after shot. With the Jake & The Neverland package we were done in about 45 minutes and had about a 10 to 15 minute wait until the Pirate Tutorial began. A fastpass for Pirates of the Caribbean would have been good here.

Your little pirate or empress will certainly draw quite a bit of attention for the rest of the day! The make-up is hypoallergenic and washes off easily. The temporary tattoo should last a few days at least.
