Carnival Jubilee

Carnival's newest flagship is the Jubilee that is sailing out of Galveston, Texas. She is a big, beautiful ship that has a lot to offer the Galveston market. I was able to sail on her second sailing, a New Year's Eve cruise!

On the day of embarkation, we arrived at the port at 1pm. It was smooth sailing through the checkpoints and security. We were able to board the ship at 1:15pm and in our stateroom at 1:30pm. We had a spa cove balcony and it had plenty of room for my husband and myself. The spa thermal suites (which were included with our room) were beautiful and never felt crowded. As a matter of fact, the ship never felt crowded even though it was at full capacity, even during the New Year's Eve celebration.

There were plenty of food options and the lines moved quickly. The Jubilee has the same restaurant offerings as her sister ships the Mardi Gras and the Celebration. Some of the names have changed like the pizza and deli, but they still had the same great tasting food.

There were also always plenty of chairs on the lido and in the serenity area.

What about the bars on board? Like the restaurants, there are more bar options on the Excel class ships than other Carnival ships. With the two story Red Frog Tiki Bar, Dr. Inks and the Mermaid bar as the most popular, it never took too long to get a drink. The drinks are fun and delicious!

Getting on and off the ship at the ports was always an easy task. The staff always made things smooth and you were never wasting time during port days. And I have to shout out to the Jubilee's cruise director Kendall Fire! She always made things fun and exciting on board.

There are many events around the ship, from shows in the theater nightly to the piano bar to the shows at the Center Stage. I was never bored and there were always plenty of options for entertainment.

If you are traveling with kids, there are plenty of options for them also. I did not travel with my children, but I did ask a few around the ship and they seemed happy with the kid's club and the kid's entertainment.

If you are wanting a bigger ship with some of the newer options that Carnival has to offer, the Jubilee is a great option!
