7 Reasons to Visit Walt Disney World in 2020 - #3 The Taste of Epcot Festival

Updated: Sep 23, 2020

2020 has proven to be a unique year and along with that comes a unique EPCOT festival. EPCOT's Flower and Garden Festival was barely two weeks into its run when the parks shut down due to the Covid-19 outbreak. The food and beverage booths and merchandise displays remained in place throughout the closure in hopes that the parks would re-open prior to the scheduled end of the festival in May. Unfortunately, that did not happen.

EPCOT re-opened on July 15th, about a month and a half before we would expect the Food and Wine Festival to begin. Disney decided it made little sense to tear down the food and beverage booths for such a short period of time. Plus, they still had all that cute Orange Bird Garden Festival merchandise to sell. (Yes, they sell other garden merchandise too, but I only care about my love, Orange Bird!) Thus, this year we have a hybrid festival - Taste of EPCOT.

The current menus are mostly the same as the Flower and Garden offerings, but expect that to change in about another month when the Food and Wine offerings and merchandise will be introduced. While some favorites may not appear on the menu this year and overall offerings are cut back, these are still EPCOT's two largest and most popular events annually.

I'm excited to visit EPCOT next week and experience this new festival for myself. Stay tuned to the Diserella Travel Facebook page and join me as we eat and drink our way around the world!
