Top 5 Disney Add-Ons You Won't Regret

A fabulous Disney vacation can be as bare bones as a stay at a Disney value resort and your park tickets. But, if you are looking for ways to add a little extra magic to your trip, I think these five Disney "extras" are worth the money.

#5 Fireworks Dessert Party

What can make fireworks in front of Cinderella’s castle even more magical? Dessert! And not being squashed in like a sardine to watch them.

There are three different types of Fireworks Dessert Parties to choose from: Enchantment Pre-Party, Enchantment Treats and Seats, and Enchantment After-Party.

For the pre-party and the after-party, you will view the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom Garden Plaza and have plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy the fireworks. If you choose to enjoy Treats and Seats, you will enjoy your fireworks right from your seat on Tomorrowland Terrace.

Each party offers you all you can eat desserts, cheeses, and beverages (including select beer and wine for guests 21 and over) and range in price from $59-$114 per person, but are well worth the expense!

#4 Holiday Party Tickets and After Hours Events

I have never regretted spending the extra money on any special ticketed event at Disney. Whether it be Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, or Disney After Hours, you will delight in the special sights, sounds, and, of course, snacks provided, as you enjoy lower wait times on attractions and less crowds plus special character meet and greets. Ticket prices range from $99-$199 per person. In the past, guests with tickets were allowed in the parks starting at 4:00PM, so you could spend the morning hanging out at your resort or Disney Springs and head over to the park in the late afternoon for even more time in the parks.

#3 MagicBands

MagicBands are essentially your key to the world when at Disney World. You are able to link your room key, your park tickets, access lightning lanes booked via Genie+, charge purchases and dining back to your resort hotel, and add PhotoPass pictures to your account.

MagicBands range in price from $10 (if you preorder through the My Disney Experience app) all the way up to $65 for MagicBand+.

In addition to being able to do all of the same things that the original MagicBand can do, MagicBand+ has interactive color-changing lights and haptic vibrations when in the parks. For example, you can interact with golden sculptures found throughout the parks at Walt Disney World, they light up in time with fireworks and other night time entertainment, and can even be used in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in a virtual bounty hunting game.

#2 Memory Maker

Think about how sad you would be if you got home from the most magical vacation ever, only to realize you don't have any photos of your whole family together.

Memory Maker is a photo service that allows you access to all the photos taken at Disney by PhotoPass photographers and the ability to download them straight to your phone or computer.

The memory maker package is $169 for advanced purchase or $199 regularly. That's actually less than the cost of a photography session and you get family photos from all over Disney. You can even ask for special effect photos, known as Magic Shots, and receive all ride photos as well.

#1 Travel Agent/Advisor

Whether you have never been to Disney or you've been 100 times over, I always recommend using a travel advisor that specializes in planning Disney vacations. They bring all their expertise and training and share it with you to help make the most of your time and money at Disney.

The best part is that the cost of a travel advisor is already built into the price of your Disney vacation (you pay the same whether you book directly with Disney or through a travel advisor), so using a travel advisor is free to you when you book a package with a minimum of 3 day tickets!
